Cooper doesn’t remember the last time he felt good. Whiskey, buffout, the sharp recoil of a gun, that was nothing, nothing . Just a bow atop a rotting carcass. He’d given up feeling good along with things like decency and morality and hope all so that one day, one day he’d find out where his family had been hiding, and today, of all days, he’d finally cracked that fucking code and what he felt at the reveal was mostly nothing with a side helping of fucking guilt of all things.
But he can make her feel good. An apology in advance. The least he can do. All things considered.
