    He had thought that, maybe, being a pilot, flying through galaxies and traversing the universe was something that was his. Something that belonged to him. Something that stuck. But, as always, he was wrong.

    He had made his peace with it. He knew what death felt like, though the previous time he died, it was instant. This time, it would be slow. But he did not really feel pain. He felt numb. Maybe death would come easy to him again. Maybe death would see how pathetic he was and decide to take pity on his poor, worthless soul.
