Once, Frank had Matt pinned, on his knees, his head in a chokehold, Frank’s boot on the back of Matt’s calf. “C’mon,” Frank had said, “try it, try to get away, c’mon.”
Matt had still overpowered him, gotten out of his grasp, and then Frank was prostrate, face down on the concrete, Matt’s knee bearing down on his spine. “Fuck you,” said Matt. It had been fantastic.

Laughing, Wade shakes his head and taps Peter's forehead with his index finger.
“Not really an answer,” he points out, smile sloping into a grin – sharp like a wolf's. “But I'm gonna let it slide this time, yeah? ‘Cause I'm a nice guy and you're just kinda dumb, and I think that might be my fault.”
Hey, for the record? One hundredpercent his fault. Over the past, say, three hours, Peter has just been lying here, tied up like a pig for slaughter while Wade has been flitting in and out of the room – whistling while he does chores around the apartment, watching TV show reruns, picking at leftovers. Anything that strikes his fancy he lets become a distraction, all while Peter stays right in the bed, listening and waiting and growing desperate. At a low enough setting, Peter could stay powered on, just like this, for days on end. Growing overstimulated and needy on the feeling of being wrapped up in his own insides.
