Summary
In 1938, there's a bar in Brooklyn called Sully’s where people are safe to be themselves. Behind the bar, a girl pours drinks. She's always got a big smile for Steve and she says queer like it's a good thing. On a regular basis, she takes his shoulders in her hands and tries to shake sense into him, saying, "When will you do something about that best friend of yours?"
In 2012, Bucky’s gone, but Steve’s not, and the girl’s hands are too old to shake him. She does her best to make him see sense anyway.
Steve had people who loved him before the war, and it turns out a few of them are still around when he finally comes home.

Bucky drags Beck into a hug as she squeals and puts up a half-hearted protest. He kisses her on each cheek saying, “I love you! I love you!”
He turns towards Steve next, hovering above him where Steve’s still laid out on the sofa. The light behind his head brings out the red and gold in his hair, makes him look like an angel with his cheeks all pink with wine.
Steve, feverish and nearing delirium, beams at him. Wants to touch. “It’s 1939,” he says. “We made it to 1939.”
Bucky nods and leans down, pressing a lingering kiss to Steve’s forehead. He murmurs, “I love you. I love you.”

“You’re on the Lost Light, we’re a civilian ship. Do you remember how you got here?” Maybe-Ratchet was staring at a diagnostic panel embedded in his forearm.
The telltale whirring of another bluescreen started to murmur in his audials again. Orion frowned, throwing wayward and clumsy code at it haphazardly.
“I merged with the AllSpark?” Orion mumbled, wondering if this Ratchet would also be mad at him for that, and then his processor shut down in an electric crackle of processor overload.
Optimus Prime makes the ultimate sacrifice, merging the Matrix of Leadership with the Well of AllSparks to restore life to Cybertron. Instead of the peaceful end he'd wanted, Primus has other plans, and Orion Pax wakes up on the Lost Light. Stranger than what look to be noses on these Cybertronians' faces is the former warlord co-captaining this dimension-hopping ship: Megatron, radically different, and yet heartbreakingly familiar.
