Summary
Grace is too late rescuing Rocky. When he finds the Blip-A again, Rocky is already gone, so Grace does the only thing he can think of, and he takes Taumeoba-82.5 to Erid himself. If he can't save Rocky, well, he might as well make sure his death wasn't in vain.
He's sick, starving, and has no Eridian native to introduce him, but he's going to save Rocky's planet no matter what. After that... he supposes all that's left is for him to die. He's nearly out of food and Yao's gun is still tucked away safely in the Hail Mary's storage.

Summary
While on the way to Erid, Grace gets what he believes is food poisoning. He chalks it up to Earth being in such a rush to let the Hail Mary set sail. Even if the quality of food seems like a /particularly/ important factor in the health of the astronauts that will end up saving their species. But who is he to say? He’s not that kind of doctor.
After all, it’s nothing he can’t handle, even with Armando spontaneously out of commission. A little bit of an upset stomach never killed anyone.
Although, this is an /exceptionally/ bad case of food poisoning..
OR
Grace's shitty human biology almost kills him, and Rocky has to save the day. They eventually end up dumping their hearts out to each other. I dunno, don’t ask me!

Summary
Ryland Grace finally learned to whistle on the way to Erid. It took being forcibly shoved on a spaceship, and having to turn around to save his alien best friend (read only best friend) but he learned.
And Rocky couldn't be more excited to teach him some basics of a simple Eridian dialect. Does Grace know the dialect is primarily used by teenagers to simplify their words born out of laziness? No not really.

Grace and Rocky had solved the Astrophage problem, and were less than six months away from reaching Erid. That was the good news.
The bad news? They just passed through some sort of wormhole that came out of nowhere, and now Grace is physically and mentally much younger than he was before.
To an Eridian, a difference of thirty years is nothing. To a human? It’s the difference between being a doctor and being a second grader.
Good thing Rocky, the number-one human expert, is here. Hopefully whatever that wormhole did wears off eventually, but if not? Well, he and Adrian did always want to start a family someday…

I had been thinking about it for a while. If I was going to get help- if I was going to figure out how to live, Rocky needed to know. He came closer and sat on the ground in front of me, now putting two hands on my legs. He was…holding me.
“I’ve had to live for other people for so long…I don’t know how to live for myself- especially on a new planet,” I said, making sure to phrase it in a way that wouldn’t make Rocky sad but was as true as I could be.

While Grace and Rocky are on the way to Erid, there are some complications. Grace is scared, they both have trauma, and are figuring out how to get through it together.
