It hadn't been one of Daisuke's best days, which was especially aggravating given that things in Oda had started off so promising. But while he was longingly watching youngsters play stick-and-hoop and doing a friendship ritual all by his lonesome, Olethra was apparently off playing the hero and nearly getting herself killed. His failure to protect her gnawed at him, inflaming nerves that had been raw and painful ever since he first heard Comfrey's message pleading for help. He'd hoped for a little peace and quiet, sneaking off to one of the private bathrooms to lick his wounds before the storm brewing inside of him boiled over, and instead this dandy little shit had followed right behind him, like he often did, shirtless and smeared with engine grease and sweat. Something empty and hungry in Daisuke had snapped.

Zelda blushes a little. They don’t talk but she still likes to keep tabs on him. Just because. It’s not a crime. “Uh, yeah, kinda. I mean, like– yeah.”
“Cool.”
Just because they broke up doesn’t mean she stopped being attracted to him. It’s normal and perfectly fine and cool and she feels normal right now. The bubbles in her stomach are from that horrible drink, not Gorgug Thistlespring, and she feels fine.
