Summary
Vox had a bad habit of working for far too late. Now, this might be forgivable if it was once in a blue moon. Once a month at the max. Vox, however, had a bad habit of doing it every single day.
If he went to bed during these times, it would only be for a half an hour. An hour at most. Then his alarm would go off and he would go right back to work because he was already at his god forsaken desk. He never even bothered going to bed. He would do this for weeks at a time—never bothering to give himself a break.
It drove Alastor absolutely up the wall. Which is exactly why he fixed it because he was not going to allow Vox to work himself to double death. It was terribly inconvenient for every party involved.
Or: Vox is way too obsessed with work and Alastor would prefer Vox to be obsessed over him

Vox ends swamped in work for a week—and in that week he doesn’t take care of himself at all. Alastor finds himself needing to force Vox into relaxing and falling asleep, and what better way than to make him stupid and pliant?
