Summary
Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes have been best friends and inseparable since they were 2 and 3. They laced up their first pair of skates together, stepped on the ice for the first time together, and have been subsequently there for each other during every milestone. They planned to be drafted to the same team, live in the same apartment, adopt a dog together, and spend their entire careers together. It's everything they've known, after all.
The NHL, however, has different plans.
And now everything has shattered and Steve is slowly losing his mind and his best friend.

Summary
Bucky is just some 22 year old former high school dropout working too many jobs to pay for his shitty apartment and his sister's tuition, so when he meets Steve Rogers and Tony Stark and they take an interest in him, it makes no sense.
He can't understand why they would want to spend time with him, let alone date him, but he's just lonely and greedy enough to cling onto what they're offering and hope that when it ends, it won't crush him.
