Summary
"They do not tell you how difficult it is—they do not tell you that after you bring them into the world that you will wake up and feel nothing but misery and dread, that every breath your lungs take feel like shackles around your ankles as you desperately try to swim toward the surface.
They do not tell you that there are wars you survive and there are wars that shall follow you home.
They do not tell you that when the world has asked you, for years uncounted, to be hard—keen as a blade, unyielding as stone—your hands may forget how to be gentle."
...
Galadriel tries to find herself again postpartum with Celebrían.

Summary
I cried out, the sound of my voice had broken the dream and restored me to consciousness. I found myself staring up in the dark with my breath disordered and my hands clenched in bedclothes presumably they may slip from my grasp. For one dreadful instant, the darkness persuaded me I was still alone with the past. Then I heard my husband speak my name.

Summary
“None of the elves wished to leave,” Celeborn says. “Not until the Valar pleaded and demanded and herded us across Middle-earth to the sea. Did you come to gather me up like a lost stray?”
“I would not say it precisely that way, but yes. I came to take you across the sea.”
“No,” Celeborn says.

When the seedlings struggle here just as they did in Lindon and even she who never grew up in forests can tell they are dying, he spends seven days and seven nights sitting in a quiet vigil beside them. He can speak to trees but it is more useful sometimes simply to listen.

Summary
They lose, in the end. The smiths rise up against them and their city is lost without any stone falling and with almost no blood shed. (Almost - for when Annatar said “but what did you expect, Galadriel?” she struck him with the heel of her hand hard enough to send him staggering back raising a hand to his bloodied lips, defeated and victorious in one.)
