Summary
Maybe that’s all it really came down to. Maybe that’s all that was necessary. Maybe loading each other with drugs and alcohol and platitudes was purpose enough. Waking up each morning just to see tonight’s blackout - the real prevention method here - would have to do, because at least it meant waking up each morning knowing that you’d both continue circling the drain together.
Wake up, spiral, black out, repeat. It was important to have a routine.
