    Il freddo di Jericho non era un freddo comune. Era un’umidità pungente, esasperante e cruda che sembrava voler staccare le ossa di ogni povero malcapitato che si trovasse a tiro. Wednesday Addams adorava questo tipo di freddo. La sua temperatura corporea sembrava adattarsi bene al clima rigido di questa cittadina del Vermont. Camminava, con le mani nelle tasche, imperterrita da una parte all’altra della scuola aggirandosi come un’ombra scura della notte. Il suo respiro creava piccole nuvolette bianche, segno che la temperatura si stava abbassando ancora.
    Wednesday Addams sopportava il freddo ma quello era semplicemente troppo.
