Summary
Being paid to be a fake boyfriend wasn’t exactly Steve’s dream job, but after his family’s bankruptcy, he was willing to do anything to make ends meet. Thanks to Robin and the website she built for him, he’d had enough clients over the past couple of years to afford a nice apartment and even save some money.

“And you know what, it’s a real shame, okay?” Eddie continues, pointing at him accusingly “It’s a fucking good book.”
Steve looks like he’s holding back a smile, “How do you know I haven’t already read it?”
And well, Eddie hadn’t even considered that.
“Have you?” He asks, purposely not looking at Steve.
Steve opens his mouth, but nothing comes out for a second. Eddie rolls his eyes, emptying the dustpan into a trash bin.
“No, it’s just-...” Steve rushes.
Eddie raises his eyebrows, looking over expectantly as he ties the trash bag closed.
“I- um…” Steve cringes at himself, takes a deep breath before continuing, “I…wrote it.”
Eddie barks out a laugh almost instantly, “Yeah, okay.”

Eddie blinked a few times before it dawned on him. “You like guys, too?” He asked hesitantly.
“I think so.” Steve paused. “Wait, too? You mean to tell me..?”

Eddie has been driving Steve up a wall these past few days. They end up arguing in the break room of Scoops Ahoy. They come out to each other listening to Wham! and then fuck about it.

Summary
Steve can hear Dustin beginning to argue with Robin, but he gets distracted at this eerie feeling. He looks around, trying to figure out what's wrong when he hears a chime. He slowly walks to the back of the store, a wave of dread washing over him as he enters the break room. His eyes frantically sweep over the area, looking for any source of danger. The only thing he notices though is a clock Keith must have bought, this is the source of the chime. The clock is creepy and old, the chimes echo in a haunting way. It feels as if he's drawn to it, before he can get to close to it he feels a hand on his shoulder. The unexpected contact scares him, jolting him back to reality. He whirls around to see a concerned Robin and an annoyed Dustin.
"Dingus? You okay?"
