Feeling the exhaustion catching up to me, I lowered my guard for a millisecond, unknowingly allowing Lando to take advantage of me. A sharp kick to my ribs made me fall, folding in on myself.
A cool feeling tapped the underside of my chin, forcing me to look upwards to my tormentor. Hopelessness swelled inside of me, as I locked eyes with Lando, my knees aching with the impact of my fall.
‘Aww,’ Lando crooned, ‘And so the mighty prince falls again. Aren’t you so cute kneeling mercilessly in front of me.’
