“On the other hand, though,” Ava’s grin is almost worryingly exuberant. “You’re just as good at fingering as I expected.”

It's been a very long time since she wanted something for herself, not only as an extension of duty.
It's hard to remember what it should even feel like, but so much of Ava is confusing (and abrasive) that this uncertainty seems only fitting.

Imogen and Laudna hadn't had much time to themselves since the kiss, and they just wanted some time to figure it all out. By "figure it all out" they meant "kiss a whole bunch", and they loved their friends - they did - but these interruptions were getting a little ridiculous.
