Summary
Mingyu pulls away, mouth twisted and ready to complain, until he feels Minghao squeeze at the back of his neck. His pupils dilate right in front of Minghao’s eyes. “Don’t be a dick,” he says instead weakly.
Minghao opens and closes his mouth, grinning. He tucks Mingyu under the chin. “Sorry. You’re just sweet. For a hookup.”
“I don’t think many people I know would agree. They normally go for annoying.”

Summary
“Are you taking on new players?” He doesn’t think before he says it, and if he had, he might not have opened his mouth at all. He knows that Choi Seungcheol is the coach for Kim Mingyu and Lee Seokmin, Minghao’s old high school rivals. Though apparently Seokmin was recently injured pretty seriously, and if Seungcheol was moving on, it would be worth asking.
But Seungcheol smiles sadly and shakes his head again. “Not really, sorry. Mingyu is a handful, even without a partner.”
Minghao snorts. “Tell me about it.”
--
After 7 years of fighting his way up the men’s singles tennis bracket, Minghao’s career has stalled out at world rank #30. Desperate for anything that can jumpstart his game again, he fires his coach, moves across the city, and starts practicing at a new club. There, he’s noticed by a coach who thinks he might know exactly what he needs.
Enter Mingyu, a career doubles player who finds himself suddenly in need of a new partner. His coach has a solution, but Mingyu and Minghao have a history.
Can they commit to this partnership that at times feels simultaneously too good to be true and not at all what they want? Or will they let old ambitions interrupt a shot at happiness?Bookmarked by lilaxroses

Summary
“It’s great timing that you moved here. Word is you recently married your long distance partner, congratulations."
Minghao starts sweating. Is it normal to congratulate people on a new marriage, or is his boss suspicious of the serendipitous nature of his visa? He straightens up and tries to arrange his face into something lovestruck.
“Thanks.” He smiles big. “I really love him. The whole thing was so... “ Clinical. “Romantic.”
He thinks of how Mingyu slammed the door last night but snuck out early this morning without so much as a note. They haven’t even exchanged phone numbers yet.
