"Hm? Oh, sure! She likes Cliff a whole lot, that's why he's in so many of her movies! That and because he's a big reason why people go to the movies at all." She laughs a little at that. Yeah, she can believe it. Nearly everyone in Hollywood is in love with that face.
"Does she have personal favorites, do you think? Like, people that might not be first in the movies, but that she just likes?"
Willie frowns at that, expression growing a little darker. Fig barely sees that on her. It scares her some, she can't lie.
"Probably," Willie says eventually, but her voice sounds a little odd. "Her and Leery have private meetings, sometimes. They say it's just to work out details for the picture, but I'm not sure."
Or, Fig Wineshine has some worries about Hollywood, particularly about how it relates to her former-child-star-turned-detective-partner.
She pointedly decides not to ask said partner his feelings on the whole matter.

Today is a quiet day. There have been a lot of quiet days lately. That's okay. He's good at being quiet. He keeps his hands on his desk and traces lines into candles and soup and little red holes. He doesn't like looking at pencil tips anymore. He doesn't like much of anything anymore.
On not quiet days, he tells them about what he's learning. They must be bored, sitting there all day. So he tries to explain, but it's hard to talk even on not quiet days.
He won't tell anyone. He made a promise about that, and Alex Lilly is a good boy who keeps his promises, and sometimes, he feels like the words "they won't believe you" are written on his arm.
Alex Lilly is trying. He doesn't know if he's doing a good job or not.

"Hi," she manages to say, quieter than she meant it to be. He smiles, shoulders relaxing. Oh. She must've scared him. She didn't mean to worry him. He seems to be worrying about everything, lately.

"Alright," she echoes, nodding. She isn't sure if that's true, but it feels like the right thing to say. That's what she says when she doesn't want him to worry.
