    "Back in his cabin, Komaeda spread out every single picture he owned that contained a smiling face from each one of his classmates, flipping open his sketchbook to a fresh page and hovering his pencil over the paper. Deep down, he knew that it would be easier to just use one that he'd already drawn, but... this wasn't just some typical sketch. This was for everyone to see, for everyone to know just how much they meant to him, even if they didn't feel the same towards him.

    The second thoughts washed over him, his heart beating faster, hand shaking ever so slightly. What did his opinion matter to them? He was dead weight - a dangerous threat that had long faded into the background and was barely even noticed now. What was the point of making something so heartfelt when he knew that it wouldn't matter in the end?
