Nishinoya spots Asahi before Asahi spots Nishinoya. This makes sense to Asahi. Even in the nondescript bustle that is this airport baggage claim area, he finds himself sticking out, towering above people, resolutely in the way of old ladies pushing overstuffed suitcases.
“Asahi!” he hears. He glances around him. Is that Nishinoya or a child? No, it’s definitely a child, being towed along by a grim-faced parent.
“Behind you, Asahi,” comes Nishinoya’s voice again.
“Oh! There you are.”

(Not a self-insert or reader surrogate fic. I wanted to explore the idea of instead of Spinel finding comfort and healing in another just as damaged as her — a la Pink Pearl — she found someone whose broken edges were a little more sharp. There’s no smut in this whatsoever and never will be. Sex will be mentioned and referenced, but never detailed.)

A Buffy the Vampire Slayer AU. No knowledge of Buffy necessary to read! Expect: high-school and then college-age modern au, Adora acquiring superpowers and fighting the supernatural forces of darkness (but was that really such a good idea?), and high drama right beside the mundane.
