Once upon a time, I wrote a little fic called Checkmate where for some unknown reason, John Sheppard had been turned into a cat. And then the whole thing took on a life of its own and all of a sudden there were mumble-mumble chapters of the whole thing, and, well.
It all started, as these things do, with mission, a shaman, a vision quest ceremony they decided to participate in to be sociable, then all of a sudden, things weren't so ceremonial...

Summary
It felt humbling to realize that he’d gotten too comfortable with the idea of spending almost every night at Roy’s, talking, debating, cooking together—it was a domestic life they cultivated, and one Ed took for granted all too soon. Roy would go back to Ishval whether Ed was ready or not.
He warned his students against that often. If something can be had, it must also have the potential to be sacrificed, he told them with a thickness in his throat. If you cannot live without it, that’s what will be taken from you first.
That is equivalent exchange at its core.
Ed is a professor and Roy is a hero; they try to make it work.

Summary
If this is what the bastard smells like on suppressants, then Ed can't even imagine how good he must smell normally. What would the full force of it do to Ed's body? To his psyche? It would probably feel amazing.
Ed hopes he smells half this good to other people when he presents, but knowing his luck he'll smell like dear old dad, not that he remembers what that smells like anymore. Probably it'll be some bullshit like... like... a train car when it's way too hot out. Rancid milk. Automail oil, too, even if he gets his limbs back, because there's no way he won't be cursed with this for the rest of his life. To be fair, he fucking deserves it.
Part of this whole thing has to be about acceptance, though, doesn't it? So, maybe he'll just... be what he is. For once.

Summary
These are a series of stories written mostly for the 30_wounds community on LJ between December 2006 and March 2010.
They are a general mash up of the manga series, the 2003 anime, and Conqueror of Shamballa. The first work takes place a couple years after the end of the movie in an alternate universe where Ed stayed in Amestris and Hughes never died.
