Summary
He thought back to how he felt, cradled in the architect’s arms in the hallway the night before.
He thought back to the feeling of soft fingers carding through his hair, made all the sweeter with the knowledge of who’s hands were holding him so dearly.
But most damningly, clear as day, he pictured Kaveh’s smile, warmer than the desert sands. His heart flipped at the image, and his breath caught. Even though it was only a memory, a fabrication, his heart warmed like he was soaking in the light of that smile.
Oh…
He thought to himself, leaning back and closing his eyes as his heart began to race.
I think I do love him.
A continuation, and a conclusion.

Summary
“Kaveh, I promise, there will be a home here waiting for you when you get back. You can count on being welcomed back with open arms.”
“Are you sure? I have no clue when I will get back, it could be years before I step foot in Sumeru again.”
“I’m sure. Have I ever made an empty promise, Kaveh?”
or
Kaveh gets a letter from his stepfather asking if he could temporarily move to Fontaine because his mother had recently had surgery. He, of course, throws his anxiety of meeting his mother aside and accepts. Left alone in Sumeru, all Alhaitham has left of Kaveh is a few memories, Kaveh’s keys, and the scent of padisarahs. That is until Alhaitham coughs up blood, and strangely, padisarah petals.
