Summary
Eddie Munson had knew a few things. He knew that there were certain rules to be followed, others to ignore. He knew (well, learned recently) that there was an alternate dimension under his hometown that was responsible for a lot of bad shit. He knew that a Critical Hit was oftentimes fatal. And that blow Harrington just took... Well. Eddie didn't like the odds.
Or, those bats did a number on Steve, and no one is talking about it. Also, Eddie survives because I said so.

It was only a matter of time before one of them got sick. They really should have planned better for it, though.

Summary
"Why don't you trust me?" he asked quietly, his voice cracking.
Spot's jaw softened, taking in Race's appearance before replying. "Course I trust you," he said finally. "The rest of the world... not so much."
__
AKA Spot is not good at feelings and Race just wants someone to take him seriously.

Summary
Steve Harrington had always been one to jump in the middle of the action to protect his kids--even if that meant putting his life on the line. Even if that meant being the sacrifice, left to barricade a door by himself against a literal army of Russians.
He had called to Robin--hoping for one fleeting moment that she would help him. Hoping that for once, he wouldn't be completely alone.
But she left. She left him all alone to hold the door.
This was fine. He was fine. He could survive this... right?
----
Or, what would happen if instead of helping Steve hold the door closed and getting caught by the Russians together, Robin ran and left Steve all alone? -

Summary
“I missed you,” he says honestly, the words muffled into Eddie’s skin, and something within him just—
Clicks into place.
Eddie doesn’t waste a second in climbing up onto the bed to hold Steve, too, his hands stroking up and down his back.
Steve continues to murmur, “Even though back then, I didn’t really know you—I missed you so much when you were gone.”
“Hey, hey, it’s alright,” Eddie says, and he draws back if only to run his hands through Steve’s hair softly, pushing the strands back just to lay soft lips at his temple. It feels like love, so it must be.
Love.
He needs it. So much he’s dizzy with it. He leans into the touch.
Eddie smiles against his skin. “I never left.”
Steve Harrington wakes up in a world where he is loved.
It's not real.
