“You’re wasting your potential,” Naoya told you, looking away because he could not accept how happy you looked in your uniform.
You spun around again, letting the skirt that reached your knees twirl around. “Hmm, am I? I am still fighting curses, I just want to be an ordinary girl as well, isn’t that enough? Plenty of sorcerers go to normal schools, too.”
Naoya decided that your desire for a life that is so-called ordinary is wrong, after all, you were going to be his future wife. How could your life be anything but ordinary?
Yet, despite his convincing and harsh words, you still went off to Tokyo for high school, leaving him behind.

Summary
Hawkins was fucking weird. Everyone thought so at one point or another. And for Melanie Austin, it was weird in more ways than one. First of all, Hawkins was supposed to exist. It was just a fictional town for a Netflix show. Second, this isn’t even the version of Hawkins that she knows. It’s the freaking Omegaverse version. So when she finds herself in the summer of 1984 as a seventeen year old, she must decide whether or not to stay out of it all.
And she decides to stay out of it. Not her monkeys. Not her circus after all. Or at least it wasn’t until a certain group of monkey’s decide to make it her circus.
