Phainon frowns. Unrequited love. Mydei is…in love with someone, and Phainon has never known until now. Even when he’s always prided himself on knowing Mydei best, even above his fellow Kremnoans—how could he miss something so important?
“Who is it?” he asks.
Mydei gives him a blank look. “And why should I tell you?”
“Because you’re ill, and it’s due to your feelings for this person,” Phainon says. “I’d like a name so I can talk to them.”
Mydeimos is ill with the flower-vomiting disease. Phainon wouldn't be Phainon if he didn't involve himself in Mydei's business, of course.
