Summary
In a world where your soulmate mark appears on your skin when you reach eighteen, Namjoon just wants to love and be loved because of who he is, not because of some intangible thing like fate. With this desire in mind, Namjoon keeps his mark hidden away, intent on never meeting his soulmate. That's why he and Hoseok spend years together as friends, and later roommates, without either of them ever having seen one another's marks. The bond between them has nothing to do with fate, as far as the two of them are aware.
But fate has a way of coming to pass. And in Namjoon and Hoseok's case, when this happens the two of them discover that they have matching soulmarks.
They've known each other for years by this point though, and so Namjoon figures that they must just be platonic soulmates. If they were romantic soulmates, they'd be in love already, he reasons. And Hoseok agrees, of course. Why wouldn't he? It's not like he's secretly been in love with Namjoon for all these years or anything.
