Gem left.
The door closed behind her. There was the sound of her footsteps moving away, and then nothing.
Pearl stayed alone in the room.
After a moment she reached down and pulled the sheet up over herself, tucking it around her shoulders, and sat there in bedroom surrounded by the smell of baked spruce and ash. She tried not to think too hard, but something refused to leave her.

“Pearl,” she placed a hand on her forearm, the action making her own heart jump to her throat. “You’re okay. What’s up?”
She took a deep breath before digging into her inventory, pulling out a bouquet of assorted yellow flowers. Her arms were outstretched towards Gem, eyes shut tight, as she said, “I had this whole speech thing planned, and there’s a letter attached that you can read if you want, but I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me?”
Gem froze.Or, a ficfight oneshot where Gem wants Pearl to ask her out- luckily, her wish comes true.

“Heya, Gemstone, do you remember where the-” he cut himself off, glancing between Gem’s beet-red face and Pearl’s confused expression. “Oh! Hey, Pearlo, welcome to town! Good to see you two are getting along.”
Pearl tilted her head. Gem pointed at the window and called out.
“Hey, what’s that?”
“What’s what?” Pearl turned quickly, scanning the windows.
Gem turned to Skizz and drew a single finger across her throat. Skizz shrugged before grinning and giving a whistle.
She turned back to Pearl. “Oh, it must have been my imagination. Oops.”
Or, where Pearl is visiting Hermitport for the holidays and accidentally develops a crush on the local baker- luckily, it doesn't seem that she's the only one down bad.

They aren’t delivering anything special – five large barrels of pickles, several bolts of cloth, enough salt to season a couple thousand meals – and their ship is barely large enough to pass council regulations. It doesn’t matter. It’s hers, and she's on it. She’s on the open sea with her closest friends, and a ship, and a storage bunker full of merchandise.
Impulse practically has to drag her below deck so Skizz can take over watch. She curls up on her bunk, lulled to sleep by the rocking of the waves, and dreams of sailing.

When Gem sets out on her first voyage to the Isles - as a captain, no less! - she has full faith that with her experienced crew beside her, nothing could possibly go wrong. That is, until a sudden storm sweeps them across the sea, and they encounter something (...someone?) that they thought was confined to myth...
