Alastor has faced some of the greatest evils that have ever existed - has stood firm in back alleys against overlords stronger than him, has several times dodged exorcist spears and even divine guitars.

It goes like this: Sklonda Gukgak has a one-night stand with a man she can't find afterward, as if he's dropped off the face of the planet. Then her son comes out with celestial markings, and she realizes just why she couldn't find Pok. Now, all she has to do is raise an angel kid. No problem. She's got this, surely. Definitely.
It goes like this: Riz Gukgak grows up aasimar, and decides he's better off without his magic. It's only ever messed things up. It's only ever made his life harder, and gods know his life was never going to be easy in the first place. He's better off swallowing it. If he never uses it, surely he can't drown in it. He can just not use it. He can be a rogue and push down all the magic and it won't have to matter that there's celestial power in him. No problem. It's a foolproof plan, right up until his freshman year. Then everything starts to go off the rails. But he's got this, surely. Definitely.

Gwen had not expected to have a late night conversation with Je- Lie- she had to get this down, it was not that hard- Captain Morales when she accepted Miles' invitation to stay the night. She just wanted to get out of her house. To spend one night out of the suffocating nothing her house seemed to exude.
But expectations were rarely reality. So when she wakes up from a... well, the Captain didn't need to know it wasn't a nightmare, and her plan for water quickly collapsed, Gwen figures tonight won't go well. Things with adults rarely do.
