Summary
The Trauma Room floor was a mess of gloves, paper gowns and blood, scuffed by shoes.
Langdon breathed out long and hard. He knocked his fist against Trinity’s outstretched one.
“Good work,” he said. “That was a good catch.”
He’d let Trinity do the chest tube, let her call the shots. It was part of teaching, his ED education fellowship had told him. It was about letting the bird fly free, but knowing exactly what to do if they plummeted towards the ground.
It had been long enough that he knew Trinity was no longer the plummeting type.
“Thanks,” she said, and it didn’t even sound forced.

Langdon and Trinity are friends. Best friends. It has been a long road to this point: here is a week in their lives.

Summary
“Why are you looking at skateboards?” asks Luke.“Maybe Kronos wants us to get a skateboard.”
Luke presses a hand on the top of Percy’s head and physically turns him away from the window display.
“Does Kronos want us to get a skateboard,” he says.
“…No.”
Luke wants to know what the hell Percy thinks he’s doing. Percy wants Luke to trip and fall over the side of the yacht. They are, as always, at an impasse.Series

Summary
“What is it?” Grover asks, “What’s with that weird look on your face?”
“Just trying to figure out if turning me in will get us enough bounty money to buy our way to LA.” Percy says, craning his neck towards the news van.
“We are not turning you in to the police.” Grover presses his head back into the alleyway.
“Why not?” Percy says. They could use a bit of cash. “You guys can just break me out afterwards, right?”
Annabeth looks like she’s considering it.
“No, guys,” Grover says. “No.”
If Percy has to spend the rest of his life cleaning up after the gods, then he might as well start from the beginning.Series

Summary
They were friends.
And yeah, maybe the ring on his finger sort of burned when he looked at her sometimes, even though it was just for show, now.
It was just easier to let her keep thinking he was still married to Abby. Safer.
It raised less eyebrows about the nature of their friendship when the ring stayed on while he was at work, the weight on his finger reminding him not to say or do anything stupid.
It also made it a little less creepy when the pet names started slipping out.
