While trapped in an elevator, they (finally) figure it out.

Eddie’s head is still tilted back against the wall, but his gaze is now trained somewhere ahead. Buck exhales with relief, because it’s easier to be this close to Eddie when he’s not looking at Buck. When Eddie looks at him, it’s just … confusing, for his body, and his idiot heart. A hopeless romantic would believe those damn forums where queers admit to realizing they’re queer because they’re in love with their best friend, who happens to be the same gender they are.
Buck may be hopeless, and he may be romantic, but he is not the two put together. He discovered he’s bisexual the normal way—by kissing a man he’s attracted to. A man who is not his best friend.
“Buck,” Eddie says, and Buck’s chest still gets fluttery when Eddie says his name like that, a low rumble settled deep in his chest. Like it’s at home there. He doesn’t say anyone else’s name like that.
