Summary
Seoul never sleeps. Neither do the thousands of vampires, or rather Kindred, who secretly inhabit its streets.
After the near extermination of their kind by the Second Inquisition almost a decade past, the city was left with an enormous power vacuum with only the bravest (or perhaps the most foolish) of vampires returning to seize the city. Since then, an incredibly precarious and volatile power balance between the vampire sects has been re-established.
When the discovery of a supposed antediluvian threatens to splinter that, seven vampires find themselves on the precipice of something far greater than they could have ever imagined with their unlife - as consorts to the very Queen of the Night. A title that you have no recollection of ever carrying. Indeed, you know nothing of your origins, of why you were buried - not even your own name. The only thing you know is him.
Meanwhile, when Jungkook didn't think his unlife could get shittier, he finds out that the potentially most powerful vampire around only trusts him for some reason. Not a great thing, considering she could be heralding the end of the world.

Summary
Jungkook is a simple man. He goes to work, he hangs out with friends, he worries about finding a mate to take home for his hometown breeding season. Maybe he spends a little more money on cam girls than is fiscally responsible but he has niche tastes. Maybe he feels a bit adrift, but he's a young penguin hybrid, supposedly in his prime, far from his crèche. At least he's good at one thing: taking care of his precious egg. A comfort egg, not a real egg, he's not a real penguin, just a man with penguin DNA and behavioral tendencies. Just like Yoongi isn't actually an owl, even if he does stay up all night and sometimes hoot to fuck with their roommates. But this is a real love story, even if a slightly odd one.
