“To be human is to feel,” Illuga says, definitively. “To be human is to hurt, to bleed, to cry. And then wake up the next day and do it again. Wake up a thousand times and do it again, knowing that the pain doesn’t stop.”
Flins’ gaze is piercing. “Why?”
“Because if we can still feel pain, we can still feel joy.”
Illuga thinks he knows what it means to be human. He has a few things to learn.

Summary
I’m dreaming, Till thought to himself. That had to be it, there was simply no other explanation for what he was seeing.
Ivan was there, dressed in his red varsity jacket and blue jeans just as he was when Till saw him earlier in the day, but there were other people there too. More specifically, there was another version of them there as well.
It made no sense, this was the strangest dream Till had ever had in his entire life, but he had to admit the alternative versions of themselves were extremely cool. The dream Ivan was dressed head to toe in black leather with a chunky chain necklace around his neck, honestly, he was Till’s walking wet dream.
Then there was the other version of himself. He was dressed more punk than Till normally dressed. A beanie with safety pins on his head, black tank top, red tie, and ripped jeans. He also had more piercings than Till had, he looked like a rock star, he was everything Till aspired to be.
