It was a long sound, naked with his uncertainty. Good at everything requiring use of his legs and thighs and nothing in the fine muscles of his wrist. His mother would have something to say about that. “Isagi. C’mere.”
“I don’t know how to paint.”
“You didn’t know where I lived but that didn’t stop ya did it? Besides, if you knew it wouldn’t be half as much fun.” He sat on his stool and studied the texture of his canvas. He used pencil occasionally to place and situate his lines when he did stills, but he wanted to dual wield select colors today and go baseless from there. All in a day’s improvisation. His monster purred somewhere in him, lax as a cat in his mother’s domain. "You can draw whatever you want."

Summary
Toji is not a devout man.
He does not believe in the gods or any of their higher power. The curses and techniques, all the dark energy they bring to the world with no positive light to counter, to balance it. The world is bloody and violent. Humans and curses fighting for control at every twist and turn. The clans and their descendants, their perfect traditions and their punishments for those who were born wrong and don’t fit into the picture.
All the corruption is human made and if there is a god, he does not smile down on Toji.
But Shiwoo has always been an exception.
