The Council was running out of patience to keep hearing clemency appeals for former rebels, and if they didn’t get Azune on that docket, if they didn’t get his story heard—or their version of it, a tale Thjazi had molded for brutal impact—they’d lose the opportunity to get him the clean slate he deserved. Thjazi refused to let it pass them by.
