Jaemin leans back in. Mark thinks he might be closer this time and his head spins at the smell of Jaemin’s cologne, undercut by sweat. “Any guys catching your eye?” he asks.
It takes Mark a second to understand what he means, because Jaemin is definitely closer now. His knee is nearly between Mark’s thighs, their chests are pushed together, and it feels like the entire world is narrowing down to Jaemin except—
“What the fuck? Dude, I’m not gay.” Mark doesn’t mean to get defensive, Mark doesn’t want to be rude, but he’s not gay, and he’s sure Jaemin knows it, but he’s still so close to Mark, forearm braced beside his head and why does Mark feel so much smaller than him like this? That’s why he’s not even trying to push Jaemin away. That’s why. Jaemin’s too big to even bother trying.
Or, Jaemin likes cornering Mark. Mark doesn't know why it feels so good. He's straight. Definitely, totally 100% straight.

Summary
When Renjun asks Mark to start over, he’s also making a mental note to himself, asking himself to start over, to begin with himself, to maybe break the cycle. He swears he wants to stop leaving, to finally stay put, that when he knocks on Mark’s door to ask him to start over, it would be the last time, because he knows, this might also be the last time Mark lets him in.
Renjun appears at his apartment doorway with bloodied and broken hands and bruises all over. It makes Mark’s insides crumble. All he wants to do is to close the distance between them. All he wants is to take his pain away. After everything. Despite everything. He can never rid his system of Renjun. The yearning. The longing. The want so solid that built a home in his insides which only grows and grows that it feels all-consuming. But what grows can also fester.
“Mark, let’s start over.” Renjun says before letting his body fall into Mark’s. Mark catches him with his arms. He presses Renjun close to him. So close to him until it feels like their bodies are one.
