If he were asked to pinpoint when the fantasy first formed, Mello would lie.
He might claim it was a recent development— that it came out of nowhere, all at once, for no apparent reason— or say he’d already been into it before he and Near started screwing. The truth, he fears, is slightly damning: the seeds of the fantasy seemed to take root in his mind the first time he ever fucked Near.

“Good boy,” Near repeats, experimental, smiling as he watches Mello’s eyes flutter shut again. “The very best.”
A small frown tugs at Mello’s lips. Near tries to kiss it away, but it lingers.
He still has work to do.

Summary
Besides, he decides, this is a nice thing to do for a friend. He wouldn’t do it for Matt, but Matt might do it for him, which means that all of this is actually totally chill.
“Come on, don’t be embarrassed,” he says to Near. “We’re friends now, aren’t we?”
Near’s brow furrows. “Haven’t we always been friends?”
“Uh.” Mello swallows. “Yes. Always. Which is why it wouldn’t be weird.”
Another brief, skeptical look from Near— and then, suddenly, an oddly secretive expression. He scoots closer. They’re both laying on their sides, facing each other, and now there is so little space between them that it wouldn’t be hard for them to accidentally bump mouths. Mello will have to be careful.
“Okay,” Near says carefully. “You’re right. It won’t be weird. I would— like you to help me, please.”
