He had a girlfriend who cared about him dearly, he led a hockey team that his mother bragged about every chance she got. He had friends, mentors, everything he could want.
Almost.
The unmoving stare of Ilya Rozanov met him at every corner, forcing a reminder to Shane of what he couldn’t hide, no matter how hard he tried. It seemed about fitting, then, that the universe would find a way to make sure Shane couldn’t possibly forget him.
