“Mhm.” Chance replies half-heartedly. Flashes Mafioso a coy smile for good measure: to really seal the deal, of course.
“Would take you to dinner first.” Mafioso stares into his eyes unblinking: expression firm. The statement uttered with such confidence that it seems believable. To an extent where part of him wishes it were true. It’s a lie, though, at the end of the day. Not that Chance wishes they were actually dating.
