Felix's harsh panting echoed in his ears as he ran, branches and vines catching at his clothes.
He could hear the furious growls of the alpha chasing him, crashing through the undergrowth and leaping over fallen logs that Felix had to scramble over.
The crown prince's scent was blown open with rage and musky with rut, filling Felix's nose. His instincts swirled and snarled in his chest, urging him to turn and face the prince.
