"You did say you'd like to get to know one another," Minthara starts. Her hand places itself on Karlach's arm after a moment, comforting, waiting. "You can speak as much as you'd like, and I will listen."
Karlach smiles, heartbroken. "It's not happy talk."
"We do not live happy lives."
First dates are difficult at the best of times, even without fighting for your life everyday and all that it entails, all that it takes from you.
Fortunately, Karlach has never been much of a believer in bad timings, only bad outcomes. Like she knows better than most - they could all be dead come morning.
She's not letting any opportunities slip her by.
