Summary
NOVEMBER 2025 UPDATE: For years, I've wanted to edit this story. I learned so much about writing and knew I could make this story so much better. This fic has a special spot in my heart. I think it might be my favorite because it isn't what you initially expect it to be and has a great Everlark HEA ending. It's part sad, Capitol prostitute, part spy-thriller, part rebellion, love story. All of that is my long-winded way of saying that I'm currently working on rewriting this story. I should have 1-2 chapters finished every couple of days, so if you're interested in reading along, there won't be a long wait :).

John frowns and finds that he can’t. Ben growls and lunges at him again, grabbing him and hitting him and John gasps. “Ben!” He sputters. “Soldier Boy!” He twists away and steps back. He turns and leans over, spitting the blood from his mouth. When he looks back, Ben is stepping towards him and John feels like he’s a kid again and he can’t help the urge to cower. “Dad!” He lifts his hands and covers his face. “Daddy!”
