Eddie could feel himself blush. “You know why,” he replied, his voice small.
Patrick tutted at his response, shaking his head slowly. “No, no, no. That won’t do, Princess.” His lips pulled into a big, teasing grin. “I want to hear you say it. I want you to tell me why you’re here with me…in my bedroom.”
He should have known that Patrick wouldn’t make this easy for him. “I…I..uh…“ he stammered out but he was unable to follow up with anything coherent. He could hear Patrick laugh at him.
“Well, I guess if you can’t say it, you’ll have to show me now, won’t you?”
With all the courage he could muster, Eddie stepped forward, lifted himself up on his tiptoes so he could wrap his arms behind Patrick’s neck, and kissed this gorgeous, infuriating boy.

Well, the only thing Eddie ever wants to see is Richie. He wants to see Richie’s truck come rolling down the street, wants to hear him lay on the horn as he speeds up in front of Eddie’s house with that big, excited grin on his face as he tells Eddie to hop in, and as they drive away, Richie will explain what took him so long, and he’ll hold Eddie’s hand and kiss his knuckles and promise to never leave his side again. And in these thoughts, Richie always keeps his promise.

“I’m Patrick, by the way,” he introduces himself, a little smile tugging on his lips.
In this very moment, it comes to Eddie’s attention that this Patrick guy is handsome, almost dangerously so, and he has no idea what to do with this information. This is his date’s roommate! He shouldn’t be checking him out even if he is exactly his type with his tall stature, dark hair, chiseled jaw, and cocky confidence. No. Eddie will not go down that road.
Fixing his expression in what he hopes to be a casual one, he replies, “I’m Eddie. I’m…uh…his date.” He gestures down at the young man between them, who is currently throwing up the last remnants of his spicy margarita into the toilet bowl.
Patrick doesn’t even glance down at his friend. His gaze is focused on Eddie and him alone. “It’s nice to meet you, Eddie,” he says, his voice dropping to a soft, alluring tone that makes Eddie’s stomach flip.
Oh, this guy is going to be trouble.

When his date gets completely wasted during their first outing together, Eddie escorts him home and ends up meeting his roommate, Patrick.
