"Well I did find out, didn’t I?" Anthony hisses back, voice raising just enough for the couple nearby to look over at them curiously. Her brother gives them a curt nod, the lines of his jaw etched with tension as the muscle near his temple ticks with the suppressed rage that simmers beneath his skin.
Sometimes she finds herself wishing he would unleash it—set it free just once—and if she happened to be swept up in the tempestuous current of it all, so be it.
