Summary

But when Ivan looks at the screen to see that domesticated animal clawing at the walls of its enclosure, he can’t help but feel moved.
Ivan unholsters his gun, “We’re bringing him with us.”
“Under whose orders?” his comrade demands. “Hyuna said to just recon without drawing attention to ourselves. That was the plan.”
“Hyuna will understand,” Ivan says, a wild grin overtaking his face. He bites it back down, feels his snaggletooth dig into his bottom lip. “That one needs to be ours.”

Summary
Behind the barrier next to the runway that leads down to the event room, there are thousands of segyein fans screaming, waving signs and lightsticks at their faces.
Ivan, who has been steadily climbing through the fandom popularity polls, saunters down the runway with a smile, even doing aegyo at the segyein super-fans, flashing hand hearts everywhere to the delight of all of his fans. Sua is more reserved, elegantly braving the flashing lights with a cool stare that has her fans swooning. Ebullient Mizi practically skips down the runway, waving and tapping the glass when she spots a fan specific to her.
Till looks out at all of the segyein faces and feels nauseous. These sick fucks… Throwing money indiscriminately at the arbiters of human pain. He spies one of his own fans jumping in the crowd. Incensed, Till scowls and flips them off — which only seems to delight them, sending them into a screaming fit that has Till tearing his gaze away from the crowd.
Before Round 1 of the 50th season of Alien Stage, 4nakt does a fan sign event.

“Would it be so bad if I stayed?”
The raven walks over to him. Careful, calculated steps, as if he’s afraid that the next might be the wrong one. He cages Till against his seat, his presence so inviting and starting to feel like the familiarity of home that he’s missed for so long, and yet something still feels missing.
“I’m not your Ivan,” he says slowly.
His response is quick. Practiced. “I know.”
“Do you, really?”
“I do,” Till urges, but he wonders if it’s really Ivan that he’s trying to convince.
When the rebellion steals a device from the segyein that allows its users to travel to alternate timelines, Till finds himself transported to a parallel world where Ivan is alive.
