So for months she sat back and watched from afar as the Salvatore brothers failed spectacularly at keeping their secret an actual secret, watched from a respectable distance as Elena Gilbert struggled to distance herself from the brothers, always drawn back in by the mystery of the unknown.

    Alyssa Potter was fine leaving the small group of problem makers and solvers to their own devices, their drama didn't involve or affect her so she left them too it... Right up till she ended up coming across a scared and confused blonde teenager, crying over a dead body with blood dripping from her mouth, then she interfered.

    She blamed her 'Saving People Thing'.
