Summary
Duncan, after the tragedy of Ashford Meadow, was bestowed a son of Maekar. To his deep disappointment, the son was not Egg—instead his older, and much more dilapidated, brother. Aerion.
TLDR: What if Aerion became Dunk’s squire instead of Egg?

Summary
Duncan glared back. His fear was gone, replaced by righteous indignation and anger. “I demand a trial by combat. I will get no justice from you lot!”
Now he’d done it. Maekar looked as if he had been personally struck. “You lowly gutter rat. You strike my omega son. And now you demand to fight him? Some knight, some honor. Why don’t you challenge me scum? Too scared to fight someone on your level?” Aerion’s breath hitched. Someone on your level? His face turned red. This was how his father saw him, just a weak maiden. He was blood of the dragon. He was of Old Valyria. He was far above this lowly hedge knight, this insignificant peasant. He did not need his father to fight for him. All he needed was his armor and mace to fight for his name.
“Enough father. I accept.” He bit his tongue to avoid saying more. The table of advisors stared at him dumbfounded.
What if Aerion has chosen a normal trial by combat? With marriage on the line

Summary
Dunk has always known he was tall, tall enough that it was peculiar- made even more so that he was an omega. A good thing, he thought. Most people that got close enough to scent his second gender assumed he was a beta who’d gotten lucky enough to share the bed of an omega.
Then he meets the Targaryens.

Summary
Dunk knew he should not care. He should have let Aerion face the end of this folly alone, if the prince meant to fall, Dunk had no place witnessing it. Reason insisted this was the only sensible course. And yet, he could not bring himself to leave.
After the Trial of Seven, Valarr had disappeared into the heavy shadow of his father’s grief, while Aerion had broken exile to seek out his cousin. Somehow, in the wreckage of it all, Dunk felt the old, unspoken obligation settle over his shoulders. A knightly Alpha did not abandon an Omega, at least, that was the story he told himself.
But he knew better.
It was not honor that held him there. It was not duty.
He had simply forgotten how to live without the weight of those violet eyes upon him, eyes that burned with something dangerously close to hatred, and yet refused to look away.

Summary
"You smelled nothing," Aerion whispered.
It was a threat.
"I smelled you," Dunk said. He didn't move. He kept his hands open, palms out. "I know what you are. That’s why you hate me. Not because I hit you. But because I know you're not..."
"Say it," Aerion breathed. His hand dropped to the dagger at his belt. "Say it and I will carve the word from your heart."
"You're not a monster," Dunk said, ignoring the blade. "You're just... terrified. You act like a beast so no one tries to claim you."
It was the understanding that did it. If Dunk had mocked him, if Dunk had laughed, Aerion might have killed him cold.
But the pity—the gentle, bovine, Alpha pity in Dunk’s eyes—shattered him.
(In which Dunk helps Aerion feel safe in his identity.)
