Batman stares, too long to be polite, too focused to be friendly, too intense to leave Clark with anything but raw heat in his belly.
If Clark catches him staring, he would do well to ignore it, to chalk it up to Batman’s compulsive observation habits and nothing more. Much safer, Clark reasons, than to name the current of tension that crackles between them. The sense of rightness, the depth of hunger. Like this is what Clark has been waiting for his whole life. Like Batman can read him, and wants to be read back.

So maybe Tim got a little desperate. Maybe he spent one too many nights sitting alone in his apartment listening to Paramore and staring at the nearly empty bottle of Kon's off-planet alcohol. And maybe, just maybe, Haley Williams's "All I Wanted " riff hit him a little too hard. Tim couldn't go into space himself, certainly not without a really good excuse, that he most certainly didn't have, but sometimes it pays to have connections.
