Beomgyu doesn’t know how long he sits there staring at the front door stupidly, waiting for him to come back. It feels like hours. His feet take him nowhere but the recesses of his mind and the past month. It surely hadn’t been like this for longer had it? Though sometimes Soobin was a little overprotective, a little foul with his mouth in his defense, a certain intensity in his guard. But he’d been different lately. He was almost… scary, at times.
It was like he was a completely different person.
(The members get a three day break from their schedules. Soobin comes back decidedly different; he’s withdrawn, then volatile and difficult. Beomgyu deals with the brunt of it before he breaks)

“Hyung, he’s not here anymore,” Beomgyu pleads. “You can’t show him anything!”
“You don’t think he’s here? That he’s watching us right now?” Soobin asks. He moves forward, making Beomgyu walk backwards with him until he’s pressed against his ex’s grave. He gasps, frozen in Soobin’s hold.
“I bet he’s so mad right now, watching me touch you. I’m gonna show him how well I can take care of you.”

Soobin and Beomgyu stumble upon Beomgyu’s ex’s grave and Soobin becomes more than a little possessive, feeling the need to claim Beomgyu right there.

Soobin tilts his head in question. “And you think…that I’m what’s best for you?” Best alpha, the voice inside him chants. I’ll be the best alpha for you, only yours.
Beomgyu grins at that, the loveliest smile that has his nose scrunching up cutely and his eyes crinkling around the edges, and Soobin knows then that he’s fucked beyond any stretch of his wildest imagination.
“Call it a gut feeling, but I think you’re going to be good for me, yes. I’d like to be friends. And roommates, if you’ll have me.”
Soobin needs a roommate. Beomgyu needs a new place to live. It makes sense for him to move in…until it doesn't.
