Bobby looked at him then, brows furrowed. “But we only talked for, what? Five, ten minutes?”
“Yeah.”
“And that was the best part of your night?”
“Yeah…” He didn’t know why he said it. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was the understanding calm that radiated off Bobby’s relaxed features. Either way, Lightning sucked in a breath. “Of my whole Christmas that year, actually.”
“So… when you said it wasn’t one of your best Christmases… Man,” Bobby breathed, shaking his head in disbelief, “you really meant it.”
During a party, Lightning finds out that he had unknowingly met Bobby long before they became friends. As he finds himself telling Bobby things he hasn't even told Doc yet, he realizes Bobby is much more than a passing acquaintance.
Or, how Bobby and Lightning actually became friends.

Summary
When Cal's hand ripped away from his, Lightning fought for enough breath to shout.
But none came.
A dull thud echoed through his chest when he landed, his body finally coming to a final resting place.
Biting back a groan, Lightning shifted until he caught sight of his friend.
Cal was out cold, lying in a crumpled heap a few feet away.
What was supposed to be a fun, friendly race to the Charlotte Motor Speedway goes horribly wrong when Cal and Lightning’s car breaks down on the side of the road. Things only go downhill from there…

Summary
Keith wakes up with chains wrapped around his wrist and ankles. Something is on his face, but it takes a minute to figure out what it is, but when he does, he feels like his heart stops. It’s a muzzle strapped to his face, the edges cutting into his skin. He’s been stripped down to the bottom half of his flight suit, his armor completely gone.
He’s alone in the dark, but he can hear someone talking in the distance, and it sounds like it’s through a door. Keith feels like he can barely breathe as the muzzle sits heavily on his face. Tears prick his eyes. Eventually the door opens, flooding the room with light. Keith flinches back, the tears finally falling down his face from how tightly he closes his eyes.
