Summary
Sam met the blue eyes in front of him. The last time he’d seen them, they were cold, empty, and calculated, practically staring through him as he ripped the wings from his suit.
In that moment, in the rundown warehouse, they were directly on him. In their proximity, Sam realized that Barnes looked terrified. His eyes were wide, frantically searching his face. He wasn’t fighting back, even though they both knew he could.
“I don’t want to hurt anyone,” Barnes rasped, voice tight from the pressure on his throat. His hands gripped Sam’s forearm, yet didn’t pry it off of him.
-
Or, Sam does find Barnes. Multiple times. Somehow, they learn to trust each other.

Summary
A year has passed since the failed announcement of the Sentinel Project in Washington D.C. Despite the future being re-written, the growing fear of mutants has only grown. Radical organizations across the globe have taken it into their own hands to handle what they see as the "mutant issue" while small mutant groups tirelessly fight to protect their own. Despite the persecution, a safe haven quietly reopens its doors in New York's Westchester for young mutants in search of support and knowledge.
Fast-forward to June 1974, in which the last two survivors of one of the aforementioned groups protecting mutantkind show up on the doorstep of the Xavier Mansion in the middle of the night. One is barely alive, solely holding on for the three young children he had taken in as his own. The other holds grief and guilt for still being alive in her heart, unaware of the fact that she is carrying quite the opposite.
Or:
Raven, Erik, and Erik's children show up at the X-Mansion in the middle of the night; the household settles into a new normal; the unexpected happens

“My ovaries would disagree,” she scoffs.
++
When she complains about the price of fertility preservation, Jack Abbot offers to pay for Samira Mohan to freeze her eggs while she finishes out her final year of residency. When she points out there's a higher chance of success in freezing embryos, they embark on a slightly different journey together.
