For the past few months Mating applications have been rolling in from all the unmated Alphas. Alphas have been courting him with gifts, inviting him to meet and greets, and showering him with praise. A dream for many Omegas. Not Stiles. He was completely fed up with it all and wanted nothing more than to throw all the Mating applications away. Especially because the one that he really wants to accept is not in the pile.

“What day is it?” Derek demanded.
“What?”
“The day! What day is today?!” Derek let Stiles go, but only so he could reach into his pocket and pull out his phone. He tapped at the home screen, and then went so perfectly still that Stiles was pretty sure this guy wasn’t human. No human could stand that still.
When it was clear Derek wasn’t going to move again without some prompting, Stiles said, “It’s Wednesday.”
“That’s impossible,” Derek whispered.
“Not really, it comes around every seven days.”
“This is impossible,” Derek said again, looking around himself, as if he was searching for something.

“You freak out because I–” said your name. It’s so small, almost insignificant, and yet, it has caused so much ruin. “...but Miles was practically humping you in public, and that’s fine."
“It’s different,” Shane stresses like Ilya should understand. That’s the problem, Ilya realizes, because he does understand. But that doesn’t make it any easier.
“Why, because you were making out with Rose Landry when it happened?”
Shane doesn’t acknowledge the words. He shakes his head again and straightens his back as he meets Ilya’s eyes, resolutely.
“Things between us can’t change,” he says.
“They already have. Hollander.”

Ilya witnesses Shane dancing sandwiched between Rose and Miles in the club, with Rose's hands under his shirt and Miles' lips on his neck. When he flees out of there, Shane follows after him, and it changes their following interactions.

Summary
When Stiles is kidnapped by witches, the pack is able to find the dead witches but no Stiles. The pack want to grieve and move on but Derek and John can’t stop looking until Stiles is found.
All their search yields in a small fox. A fox who Derek can’t help bonding with, that only helps bring him and John closer. But the Stiles shape hole still haunts them both.
