“Hyunjin is dead,” Jeongin breathed. He looked up to see the others stare back at him with wide eyes, Hyunjin towering over them at the back, the light from the window in the hallway lighting up his figure. “They told me he was dead.”
Hyunjin's dark eyes found Jeongin’s tearful ones.
“Not dead,” Hyunjin said with a poisonous smile. “Just gay.”
Or: Jeongin has spent years mourning the loss of his first love, a love he was told by his church was sinful and wrong, but one he just couldn't stop from blooming in his chest. There was a flower shop on my way here, so I just….” Jisung starts, trailing off and pressing the flowers nervously into Hyunjin’s hands. "You smell like flowers. And you have them all over your apartment. I don’t know, now every time I see flowers I think of you.”
Hyunjin pulls away from the bouquet and stares at Jisung, baffled, “It’s the middle of spring, Jisung. There are flowers everywhere.”
“I must be thinking about you all the time then.”
He promptly hears Minho choke from his seat in the living room.
Hyunjin has loved and been dumped more times than he can count. Just when he thinks to give up on love, there comes Jisung, stumbling into his life.
